Motorcycle Vest Mandate for 90 Days: Alerts Over License Plate Cloning and Illegal Sales Networks

From today onwards, motorcyclists and their passengers are required to comply with new regulations for using two-wheeled vehicles for a 90-day period. One key requirement is wearing distinctive vests with the vehicle license plate printed on them.

Both drivers and passengers must don retroreflective vests displaying the license plate number on the back. These vests are designed with technical specifications to enhance riders'visibility, especially in low-light conditions or at night.

Technical Specifications for Distinctive Vests:

1. Material Composition:

The vest must be made of two materials: a base fabric and retroreflective material.

2.Retroreflective Bands:

Bands should be gray, silver, or white, with a minimum width of 5 cm.

Front and back must each have at least one horizontal retroreflective band. If two horizontal bands are used, they must be spaced at least 14 cm apart.

3. Vertical Bands:

Front: Two vertical bands, one on each shoulder.

Back: Two vertical bands starting at the shoulders, with their lower ends connecting to the upper horizontal band.

These measures aim to strengthen road safety by improving the visibility of motorcyclists in all lighting conditions.
